THIS RESIDENT

The lake that threatened to drown my core
On a moonlit night, with shadows of twigs and branches posing as trees cast across it,
Words that we fought hard against,
Those were the potent weapons that did the deed,
Dropping lower and lower and lower,
As though it sought to be encased by the prison of ice fast hardening over the once fluid water body,
Its owner gave over the reigns to be pulled by the one who was resident in the core,
Presuming a surgical procedure, a highly affection inclined procedure from the resident
Was a requirement in case things got out of hand,
The Peak led, by the way
The irony,
Controlling from the inside,
However the most effective,
It still came down to one,
That this detective,
The resident under discussion, was the fins with which it was to swim, and the rock with which it did break through
God with us,
And warmth prevailed…
